Hi, I’m Kate!
I’ve been caring for children for as long as I can remember. I started babysitting for families in my church when I was just ten years old, and continued working with children through Care.com during high school. Today, I work full-time as a nanny for a family who has become like my own.
Over the years, I’ve learned that some of the best moments with kids happen when they’re given the opportunity to play, create, explore, and use their imagination. I love finding simple ways to keep kids active, engaged, and excited while naturally incorporating learning into everyday play.
Why I Started Play Planners
But coming up with something new to do every day isn’t always easy.
For years, I found myself scrolling through Pinterest looking for crafts, games, printable activities, and new ideas to keep the kids entertained. There were thousands of great ideas, but finding something that was actually right for the kids I was caring for could take just as much time as the activity itself.
I also found that finding good-quality free printables was surprisingly difficult. There are so many printable activities online, but a lot of them are paid. Buying a $5 printable might not seem like much, but when you need new activities regularly, those little purchases can quickly add up. I wanted to create a place where caregivers could find fun, useful, and high-quality free printables without having to spend money every time they needed something new for the kids.
Eventually, I realized I couldn’t be the only babysitter, nanny, parent, or caregiver who felt this way.
So I created Play Planners—the resource I wished I had throughout all my years of babysitting and nannying.
